Goyescas , for Viola and Piano

«Goyescas» is a cycle of seven short, middle-heavy pieces. Inspired by the paintings of Francisco de Goya, Elisenda Fábregas wrote atmospheric pieces that convey Spanish folklore through mysterious harmonic and modal structures. Other pieces show fiery dance rhythms and have an infectious temperament, soaking the cycle with this special fire and the typical Spanish zest for life.
In the «Goyescas» Elisenda Fábregas combines Spanish musical traditions with contemporary composition techniques and thus develops her own musical language.
