With his four-part song cycle Wilfried Hiller musicalises various poems by Rainer Maria Rilke, which were published between 1906 and 1913. Hiller chooses the pieces dramaturgically: Common content is the awareness of themes such as loneliness, death and loss; however, neither the texts nor his composition reflect a definitive hopelessness. The songs were premiered in 2010 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.
