Herbert Philipp Allen(1868–1961)

Herbert Philip Allen was an English violist, organist, and composer known for his work in sacred music and his contributions to instrumental compositions. His Sonata in D for viola and piano, published in 1936 by Rushworth & Dreaper, is one of his notable pieces alongside other works like Humoreske for violin and piano. Allen had a background in Gregorian music and served in various musical roles throughout his life, including teaching and church music.
